Android O: List of Smartphones That Should Get It

In just a few days, the official stable release of Android by Google will be launched. Android fans, tinkerers, developers, programmers are all eagerly awaiting the latest stable release.  Google is keeping their fans at the edge of their seats with the launch of Android O, the next latest #Android release.

UPDATE: We've updated the list of Sony Smartphones that will receive the latest Android O (Oreo) update.

Google had announced some days back that it would be officially launching Android O on August 21, 2017. Google’s Pixel line of phones will definitely be the ones to get the first updates. Android O is then expected to roll out throughout the consecutive months for several more OEM smartphones.

The only problem is that manufacturers take way too long for pushing out the latest update to their respective smartphones. The main reason is because manufacturers like Lenovo (has since gone stock #android), Xiaomi, LG and Samsung modify the operating system and customize it for their smartphones.

It will always take more than a month or sometimes more for other smartphones to receive the latest update. It is always a good thing to know whether your smartphone will be receiving the latest update or not.

Currently, the latest version of Android Nougat (N) runs on just 13.5 % of the smartphones. Thus, it is the possibility that you have not received Android Nougat yet.

Nonetheless, you could always be gifted a new smartphone or you could upgrade your current smartphone to the latest model.

So, it is better to know whether the phone you might purchase in the future would be upgraded to Android O.

Here is the list of phones from different manufacturers that might get the Android O update. This is solely based on previous direction different manufacturers have taken in upgrading their respective phones to the latest Android version.
