Sony is consistent when software updates are concerned. There are many Sony Devices in the market right now. Sony has made considerable contributions to AOSP. Below is the list of Sony Devices that should and should not get Android 9 Pie (Android P).

The update to Android 9 Pie (Android P) is really near. People are concerned which of their devices would be updated to Android 9 Pie (Android P). Devices from 2017 should mostly get the update, but devices from 2016 will not make get it. This is really sad, as there are some good models which should have gotten the update. The update to Android 9 Pie (Android P) is expected to be late 2018 and/or early 2019. Some 2018 Sony devices should also get the Android 9 Pie (Android P) update. 

Sony has revealed that the Android 9 Pie (Android P) update will be rolled out to some of its Xperia device range. Sony has made the list official in a blog post. The company stated its premium range handsets will get the upgrade, starting in November 2018.
