Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is giving its broadband and postpaid subscribers a 1-year free subscription to Amazon Prime. The telecom operator announced its partnership with Amazon on Monday. The offer is called the BSNL Amazon Prime Subscription. It is offering the Amazon Prime 1-year subscription costing about Rs. 999/- for free. Select broadband and postpaid subscribers are eligible. As per the latest offer, BSNL subscribers throughout India having postpaid plans above Rs. 399/- and broadband plans above Rs. 745/- are eligible for the 1-year Amazon Prime free membership. There will be no additional costs incurred by the customer.
BSNL, by providing the Amazon Prime subscription free for one year, is challenging rival telecom operators Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone-Idea. This 1-year free Amazon Prime subscription is already available to its subscribers. This 1-year Amazon Prime subscription comes with Amazon Prime Video streaming including Original series, TV shows, movies, and stand-up comedy. In addition, the Amazon Prime subscription also has infinite free and fast order dispatch, deals, early access, and other offers on Amazon India. Users also get ad-free streaming music through Amazon Prime Music and eBooks through Amazon Prime Reading.

It is commendable that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has taken this initiative to reach out to its customers with offers. The state-run telecom operator has a lot of catching up to do to increase its subscriber base. Offers such as these will allow the state-run telecom operator to be competitive.
